Having conducted a hearing on 2 June 2007, considered the evidence filed in support of the Prosecutor’s motion, as well as statements made by the suspects, the Court granted the motion. The Court found that there is grounded suspicion that, during May 2007, together with a number of unknown invididuals, the suspects planned and took active part in criminal actions which were designed to enable Radovan Stanković, a person serving a 20-year long term impriosnment sentence pursuant to a verdict of this Court, to escape from the Foča Correctional Facility. In their totality, these actions made Stanković’s escape possible.
The Court ordered custody for the suspects having found there is a justified fear that, if released, they would interfere with the course of the criminal proceedings by influencing witnesses, accessories or accomplices.
