A hearing before the Appellate Panel of Section II for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in the case of Husmir Čović has been scheduled for tomorrow, 29 March 2007 in courtroom 8, starting at 10.00am.

The Trial Panel rendered its verdict in this case on 1 December 2006, finding Husmir Čović guilty of Smuggling of persons and sentencing him to two years and six months imprisonment. 

According to the first instance verdict, acting in accordance with a prior agreement with Fadil Čović, the Accused attempted to illegally transfer four Albanian citizens from BiH to Croatia on 22 October 2005.   

The above verdict was appealed by the defence counsel for the Accused and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
