Having held a guilty plea agreement consideration hearing and a sentencing hearing, on 4 February 2019 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered a judgment in the Slobodan Čavarkapa case, finding the accused Slobodan Čavarkapa guilty of the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250(2) of the Criminal Code of BiH as read with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195(1) of the same Code. In that regard, the Court sentenced the accused Slobodan Čavarkapa to 1 (one) year of imprisonment and fined him with 500.00 KM.
Slobodan Čavarkapa has joined an organized group of criminals which was led by Goran Stanković from mid-December 2009 to early May 2010, in order to obtain illegal property gain by continually perpetrating criminal offenses related to illicit international trafficking in narcotic drugs – marijuana, despite the fact that he knew he did not have the authorization from the relevant authority to purchase, procure, keep and sell narcotic drugs, and that the trafficking in narcotic drugs was limited by the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the Law on Prevention and Suppression of the Abuse of Narcotic Drugs with the relevant lists.
