Status conference scheduled in the case of Enes Ćurić et al.

A status conference in the case of Enes Ćurić et al. before Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been scheduled for 13 February 2015, beginning at 1 p.m., in Courtroom 6.

 

On 15 October 2014 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment charging the accused Enes Ćurić, Ibrahim Demirović, Samir Kreso, Habib Čopelj and Mehmed Kaminić with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

 

The Indictment alleges that the accused: Enes Ćurić, as a member of the 49th Mountain Brigade of the Army of RBiH and warden of the prison facility set up at the elementary school and other prison facilities in the village of Potoci; Ibrahim Demirović, as a member of the Army of RBiH, and as of 13 September 1993 commander of the 47th Mountain Brigade; Samir Kreso, as a member of the Army of RBiH and the Head of the Medical Unit of the Mountain Brigade operating in the territory of Bijelo Polje; Habib Čopelj, as a member of the 49th Mountain Brigade of the Army of RBiH; and Mehmed Kaminić, as a member of the Army of RBiH, Military Police Battalion, between 30 June 1993 and 2 December 1993, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the armed conflict between the Army of RBiH and the Croat Defense Council in a broader territory of the Mostar municipality, participated in the unlawful arrest and detention of Croat civilians who were subjected to heavy physical and mental abuse and placed into inadequate rooms.
