On 29 November 2006 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rendered a decision partially upholding the appeal filed by the Defence Counsel for the Accused Zoran Janković and modifying the decision of 7 November 2006 so that custody for the Accused is terminated and replaced by restrictive measures. Restrictive measures, inter alia, include house arrest and conntact or interfirence with individuals who might appear as the Prosecutor's Office witnesses. The indictment charges the Accused with the criminal offence of Crimes against humanity.
The indictment alleges, inter alia, that on 29 April 1992, together with another individual and a group of members of paramilitary formations, the Accused captured a group of Bosniak civilians who had been hiding in the forest in the area of the Snagovo village in the municipality of Zvornik. After capturing the group, the Accused and his accomplices allegedly took them to an area known as Rašidov Han in Snagovo where, by shooting from automatic riffles, they killed 36 and wounded three of them. On the same day, the perpetrators allegedly burned the bodies of the murdered victims in order to cover up the crime.
