Appeals Judgment in Srećko Aćimović sent out

On 16 August 2021, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent out the appeals judgment in the case of Srećko Aćimović dated 7 June 2021, dismissing as ill-founded the appeal filed by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, whereas the appeal filed by defense counsel for the accused Srećko Aćimović was granted with regard to sentencing, and the trial judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina No. S1 1 K 020200 16 Kri dated 16 October 2020 was modified in that part, so that the accused Srećko Aćimović is now sentenced to seven (7) years of imprisonment for the criminal offense of Genocide under Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia (CC SFRY), as read with Article 24 of the Code (aiding and abetting), which the judgment found him guilty of, pursuant to the above statutory provision, as well as Articles 33, 38(1), 41(1) CC SFRY, while in the remaining part defense counsel’s appeal was dismissed and the trial judgment upheld.

By its trial judgment delivered on 16 October 2020, the Court of BiH had sentenced the accused Srećko Aćimović to nine (9) years of imprisonment.
