The Public Information Section of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina enables communication with the media both national and international as well as with the general public. The main function of this Office is to enable two way communications with the representatives of the BiH public and to provide all public information from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is extremely important process which enables a wider understanding of the work of this institution and general awareness of the importance of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Within the Outreach program of the Court of BiH, the Public Information Section in cooperation with other Departments daily organizes visits of students both national and international as well as the representatives of different organizations and associations. During their visits to the Court of BiH they have an opportunity to meet with the representatives of the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office, visit the courtrooms and other premises of the Court of BiH in order to get the real picture of this extremely important institution. The visits last approximately two hours and they usually come in groups of 20 to 30 persons. Should you visit the Court of BiH please fill in the Visit’s Request to the Court of BiH. Upon submission of your request you will be contacted by the personnel of the Public Information Section in order to jointly finalize the logistics re the visit.

The personnel of the Public Information Section are the only personnel authorized to give statements on behalf of the Court of BiH unless the President of the Court decides differently. The personnel of the Public Information Section is in regular contact with the media representatives and provide public information needed for their work. They also coordinate all interviews with the employees of the Court of BiH. Upon submission of your request you will be contacted in order to finalize the details.

The Public Information Section prepared the second brochure on the work of the Court of BiH ’Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Registry Office 2007’ which clarifies the work and the structure of the Court of BiH. This brochure also clarifies the important role of the Registry Office in this project, provides more data on the mandate of the Registry Office, its employees, and future plans. Brochure provides a review of the cases processed before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code, Article 241, filming is not allowed in the courtrooms of the Court of BiH. Any type of recording equipment and mobile phones are prohibited inside the premises of the Court of BiH. In copperation with the audio-video technicians of the Court of BiH, the Public Information Section distribute DVDs and the photos from all public hearings.
