Zoran Bjelica acquitted, Novica Tripković sentenced to 8 years in prison

Following the completion of the main trial in the case v. Zoran Bjelica et al. the Panel of the Section I for War Crimes of the Court of BIH, handed down the Trial Verdict under which the Accused Novica Tripković is found guilty of the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians in violation of Article 142 of the Criminal Code of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (CC of SFRY) as read with Article 22 of the CC of SFRY and sentenced to eight (8) years in prison. Under the said Verdict the Accused Zoran Bjelica is acquitted of the charges for War Crimes against Civilians in violation of Article 173(1)(c) as read with Article 180(1) and Article 29 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC of BIH).
Željko Stanarević sentenced to 13 years in prison

Following the completion of trial in the case v. Željko Stanarević, the Panel of the Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina handed down the Verdict under which the Accused Željko Stanarević is found guilty of the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity in violation of Article 172 (1) (h) as read with (a) and Articles 29 and 180(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina and sentenced to 13 (thirteen) years in prison.

Željko Pažin sentenced to one year in prison

Following the admission of the guilty plea agreement, the Panel of the Section II for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina handed down on 25 April 2016 the Verdict under which the Accused Željko Pažin is found guilty of the criminal offense of Organized Crime in violation of Article 250(2) of the CC of BIH as read with continued criminal offense Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs in violation of Article 195 (1) of the CC of BIH. The Court sentenced the Accused Željko Pažin to one (1) year in prison and ordered upon him an accessory sentence – fine in the amount of BAM 500.00 which the Accused must pay within 15 days from the day the Verdict becomes final and binding.
Indictment confirmed in the case v. Miodrag Mitrašinović

On 18 April 2016 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment under which the Accused Miodrag Mitrašinović is charged with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians in violation of Article 142 (1) as read with Article 22 (co-perpetration) of the Criminal Code of SFRY.

Trial Verdict upheld in the case v. Goran Popović

The Panel of the Section I for War Crimes of the Appeals Division, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent out on 29 March 2016 the Appeals Verdict dated 25 February 2016 in the case v. Goran Popović refusing as unfounded the Prosecution appeal and upholding the Trial Verdict No: S 1 1 K 013929 13 Kri dated 30 April 2015.
Nikola Marić sentenced to 20 years in prison

Following the completion of the trial in the case v. Nikola Marić, the Panel of the Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina handed down the Verdict under which the Accused Nikola Marić is found guilty of the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity in violation of Article 172(1)(h) as read with sub-paragraphs (a) – murder, (d) - forcible transfer of population, (e) (imprisonment or other severe deprivation of liberty), (f) (torture), (i) (enforced disappearance) and (k) (other inhumane acts), all in conjunction with Article 29 and 180(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Court sentenced the Accused Nikola Marić to prison term of 20 years.

Having held the hearing to consider defense’s motion to terminate the custody of the accused Fahrudin Radončić, on 14 April 2016 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision terminating the custodial detention of the accused Fahrudin Radončić and ordering the following prohibitive measures:
