On 16 April 2012, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment in the case v. Zemir Kovačević, under which the Accused Kovačević is charged with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians.

The Indictment alleges, among other things, that during the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the months of March and April 1992, and July and August 1992, as a member of the Intervention Platoon of the 1st Bosanski Brod Brigade, the Accused acted alone and with unidentified members of Croatian Defense Forces and Croatian Army and participated in killing, torture, unlawful confinement, taking to force labor, looting and illegitimate destruction of property of Serb civilians in the municipality of Bosanski Brod.
