The Indictment inter alia alleges that, as a member of the Special Purpose Unit “Maturice” operating within the “Josip Ban Jelačić” Brigade, in mid-June 1993, together with other members of this unit, the Accused Anić participated in the armed infantry attack on the village of Grahovci. On that occasion, they found a group of Bosniak civilians in the basement of a house and separated men from women and children. These separated men, eight of them in total, were then lined up in front of a house and the accused Anić, together with other members of the unit, opened fire at them from automatic weapons killing them in the process. Together with other members of “Maturice” unit, the Accused Anić participated in the infantry attack on the village of Han Ploča, „cleansing“ the village and collecting the civilians in the process. On that occasion, they shot one civilian dead while around 20 men were lined up in front of a house and gunned down by shots fired from automatic weapons. Moreover, as the Indictment alleges, on 24 June 1993, in the settlement of “Luke”, Kiseljak municipality, the Accused Anić, together with two other HVO soldiers searched a summer house from which they took out a civilian and caused him to suffer great physical and mental pain. As alleged in the Indictment, on 23 October 1993, together with members of the Special Purpose Units “Maturice” and “Apostoli”, the Accused Anić came to the area of Vareš municipality to take part in the operation the aim of which was to take control of the village of Stupni Do. On that occasion, together with other members of the above-mentioned units, the Accused Anić participated in the killing of 38 Bosniak civilians from the village of Stupni Do.
