Status conference scheduled in the Zoran Marić case

Status conference before the Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), in the Zoran Marić case, has been scheduled for 9 September 2009, starting at 8:45a.m. in courtroom 6. Zoran Marić is charged with the criminal offence of War Crimes against Civilians.

The Indictment states that the Accused Zoran Marić, during the state of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a member of the Army of Republika Srpska, on 10 September 1992, together with other members of an organized group of armed people, having agreed on a plan to round up Bosniak civilians located in the settlement of Ljoljići-Čerkazovići, Jajce Municipality, with the intent to take them away and kill them at the location known as Tisovac, took part in the unlawful arrest and forceful taking of Bosniak civilians out of their houses, and rounded them up at the location known as Osoje. After that, the captured civilians were taken to the location known as Tisovac, where they were ordered to line up next to the edge of an abyss, and when they complied, the above mentioned persons shot bursts of fire at them, killing 23 and wounding four persons.
