On 28 October 2025 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent out copies of the Appeals Judgment in the Zdravko Čvorić case, dismissing as unfounded the appeal of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the appeal of defense counsel for the accused Zdravko Čvorić, while partially granting the appeal of the injured party's attorney, and modified the Trial Judgment of the Court of BiH of 27 March 2025 in the part of the decision on the redress claim. In the remaining part, the Trial Judgment is upheld.
The Trial Judgment sentenced the accused Zdravko Čvorić to seven (7) years in prison, with credit for the time he spent in custody, starting from 5 May 2024 onwards.
The accused Zdravko Čvorić was found guilty of committing the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 142(1) of the Criminal Code of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, in that, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the armed conflict between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Army of Republika Srpska, in the territory of the Zvornik municipality, in his capacity as a reserve police officer of the Zvornik Public Security Station, while performing his duty as a guard in the prison located on the premises of the "Divič" Football Club, where Bosniak civilians from the Zvornik municipality were unlawfully detained, he, armed with a rifle and with threats to kill her, forced a detained female person, a Bosniak civilian, to have sexual intercourse (rape).
