Judgment pronounced in Novo Đukić case

Having held a guilty plea agreement consideration hearing and a sentencing hearing in the case of Novo Đukić, on 9 March 2026 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered and pronounced a Judgment, finding the accused Novo Đukić guilty that, in the manner described in the operative part of the Judgment, he committed the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit under Article 217(1) CC BiH.

 

The Court sentenced the accused to six (6) months of imprisonment.

 

The Court also fined the accused with 4,000.00 BAM, which he must pay towards the BiH budget within 3 (three) months of the day when the Judgment becomes final.

 

At the same time, the Court imposed a security measure on the accused Novo Đukić, prohibiting him from performing any profession, activity or duty, i.e. imposing a ban on his performing the duties of a customs officer at the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, Customs Sector, for a period of 2 (two) years, running from the date the Judgment becomes final.

 

The Court also confiscated from the accused the ill-gotten gain in the amount of EUR 50.00, which the accused is obliged to pay in the equivalent value expressed in convertible marks to the budget of BiH within 30 (thirty) days of the date the Judgment becomes final.

 

The accused was found guilty that on 5 June 2025, at the Kozarska Dubica border crossing, as an official person at the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in his capacity as a customs officer at the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITA BiH), assigned to the position “Customs Officer in the Customs Department at the Kozarska Dubica border crossing”, acting in his capacity as a customs officer, with the aim of obtaining material gain, he demanded a gift in the form of money, in the amount of EUR 50.00, in order not to perform the official obligation of customs clearance of goods, which he had a duty to perform.
