Having held a guilty plea agreement consideration hearing and a sentencing hearing in the case of Aleksandar Praštalo (S1 2 K 053760 25 Ko), on 19 January 2026 the Court delivered and pronounced a Judgment finding the accused Aleksandar Praštalo guilty that, in the manner described in the operative part of the Judgment, he committed the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit under Article 217(1) of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The Court sentenced the accused to one (1) year in prison, with the time he was deprived of his liberty from 15 October 2025 to 7 November 2025 being credited towards his prison sentence.
The Court also fined the accused with 35,000.00 BAM, which the accused is obliged to pay towards the BiH budget within a period that cannot exceed 6 (six) months, running from the date of the finality of the Judgment.
At the same time, the ill-gotten gain in the amount of 200.00 EUR, or the equivalent value expressed in convertible marks, was confiscated from the accused Aleksandar Praštalo, which the accused is obliged to pay towards the BiH budget within 30 (thirty) days from the date of the finality of the Judgment.
The accused was found guilty that on 12 June 2025, as an official person in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in his capacity as a customs officer at the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITA BiH), assigned to the position of Senior Officer – Shift Leader at the Customs Department at the Gradiška border crossing, acting in his capacity as a customs officer, in order to obtain material gain, he demanded a gift in the form of money in the amount of EUR 200.00 for himself, in order not to perform the official obligation of customs clearance of goods that he was supposed to perform.
In the same case, the Court issued a Decision extending the application of prohibition from undertaking certain business activities or official duties, while terminating the further application of the ban on visiting certain places or areas.
