On 6 May 2025, the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Reform in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) visited the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina within its study visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, all within its mandate providing support to Ukrainian prosecutors and investigators in the domain of international crimes in the context of the war in Ukraine. Members of the Delegation from Ukraine had an opportunity to exchange expert knowledge with judges, the registrar of the Court of BiH and the head of the Witness Support Section concerning war crime cases prosecution and numerous experiences of the Court of BiH, the established trial system and its mechanisms.
The Delegation visited the Court of BiH also on 8 May 2025, on which occasion they met with the heads of the Court’s Divisions, who shared their valuable long standing work experiences gained in this judicial institution. The visitors were walked through courtrooms, as well as the premises of both the Witness Support Section and the Detention Unit of the Court of BiH.
The visit to the Court was instructive, constructive and organized with the aim to inform the Ukrainian prosecutors and investigators about the established practice of war crimes cases prosecution before the judicial authorities in Bosna and Herzegovina.
