Judge Mirza Jusufović was born in Tuzla in 1953. He completed the primary and secondary school in Tuzla, and graduated from the Law School in Sarajevo in 1976.  

Judge Jusufović passed his bar exam in 1977.

He was working as a judge of the Municipal Court in Tuzla and later on the District Court in Tuzla, then also as an attorney, the President of the Higher Court in Tuzla, a judge of the BiH Supreme Court Section and a judge of the Brčko District Appellate Court.

During his working experience, he also held other important posts, including, among others, the post of a Secretary of the Tuzla Municipal Assembly, a Secretary of the Tuzla District Assembly, Cantonal Minister of Interior and was also a legal advisor at the Brčko Supervisor Office.  

As a member of the OHR International Expert Team – Law Review Commission for Brcko District, he worked on the establishment of a new, modern legal system in the Brcko District, and a new, reformed and independent judiciary. In this role, judge Jusufufović took part in the drafting of laws regulating different fields of the social life, in particular, the laws regulating the field of judiciary, including the Criminal Procedure Code of Brcko District, the Criminal Code, the Civil Procedure Code and many others, which have served as a basis and model for drafting the same laws at the entity and state level.

As a representative of judges from the Brcko District, he was a member of the first composition of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC).

On 15 February 2005, he was appointed as a judge of the Court of BiH. Since 2008 until today, he has been working as a judge at the Appellate Criminal Division dealing with organized crime, general crime and war crime cases.   

In addition, for many years, judge Jusufović has been working as an educator at the Center for Education of Judges and Prosecutors. On a number of occasions, he was also engaged as a lecturer by OSCE, the BiH Ministry of Justice, OKO and other institutions in relation to the topics covering the prosecution of organized crime, terrorism and war crime cases.
