Mirko Božović was born in 1950 in Prečani, Trnovo Municipality. He graduated from the Law School of Sarajevo in 1975. He passed the bar exam in 1989. He started his professional career in the Legal Department of the “FAMOS” engine factory in Sarajevo. He worked in the field of regulations and labor relations. After that he worked as the head of the Personnel and Legal Department. He was appointed a Judge of the Basic Court on 30 October 1992. As of August 1995 he worked as the President of the Basic Court of Istočno Sarajevo in two consecutive terms. In October 2003, he was appointed a Judge of the District Court of Istočno Sarajevo. On 23 November 2010 he was appointed a Judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

By Decision of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, on 1 April 2021 he was appointed additional judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
