The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina was today, 26 April 2024, visited by a group of students of the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies of the University in Sarajevo. The students, accompanied by their professors, had an opportunity to learn more about the organization of the Court of BiH.

Within the visit to the Court of BiH, the students were given an opportunity to speak with representative of the Legal Department, Witness Support Section and Public Information and Outreach Section of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The students were very much interested in learning about the Court’s organization and the trial process itself. In particular, the focus of their interest was directed at the activities and work of the Witness Support Section and the role of legal advisors, namely the manner in which they provide support to trial panels. In addition, they were given an opportunity to see a video-audio recording of a trial in a war crime case, in which a witness with granted protective measures gave evidence. The students have also expressed their interest follow hearings in cases pending before the Court, which is why they plan to pay regular visits to the Court during their further course of studies.
