Staniša Gluhajić was born in the city of Tuzla in 1957, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He graduated from the School of Law, University of Belgrade, in 1982. He served his internship at the District Court in Tuzla, and in 1983, having passed his bar exam, he was appointed a judge at the Municipal Court in Tuzla. Between 1986 and late 1990 he was a member and secretary of the Executive Committee of the Tuzla Municipal Assembly. From 1990 to May 1992 he was a member and secretary of the Municipal Election Commission in Tuzla, and in early 1991 he was also Chair of the Regulations Committee of the Tuzla Municipal Assembly. From May 1991 to 2003 he worked as a Tuzla-based attorney, and then moved the business to Belgrade. In November 2003 he was appointed as a prosecutor at the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office. He was appointed a judge at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 18 January 2007 and assigned to Section I for War Crimes. In November 2020, he was temporarily assigned to the Criminal Subdivision at the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH, and has been a member of the Appellate Division, Sections I, II and III, of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina since January 2023.
