Written Second Instance Verdict issued in Saša Baričanin case

The Appellate Panel of Section I for War Crimes of the Court of BiH, having held a session, pronounced and issued a written Second Instance Verdict dismissing as untimely the appeal of the Accused Baričanin, refusing as unfounded the appeals of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and Defense Counsel for the Accused and upholding the First Instance Verdict. Under the First Instance Verdict, the Accused Baričanin was found guilty of the Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1)(a), in conjunction with Article 29 of the Criminal Code of BiH (the CC BiH), and subparagraphs (c) and (g) of the same Article of the CC BiH, all as read with Article 180(1) of the CC BiH and sentenced to 18 years in prison.
