Edin Džeko pleaded not guilty

At a plea hearing before Section I for War Crimes of the Court of BiH, the accused Edin Džeko pleaded not guilty.

 

On 19 June 2012, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment under which the Accused Edin Džeko is charged with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians and War Crimes against Prisoners of War.

 

The Indictment alleges, among other things, that during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and during the armed conflict between the Army of RBIH and HVO, as a member of Special Detachment for Special Purposes Zulfikar of the Supreme Command Staff of the Army of Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina /SOPN ŠVK/, the Accused Edin Džeko violated the rules of international law and participated in killing, torture, inhumane treatment, unlawful detention and looting of property of civilians and prisoners of war in the village of Trusina (Konjic municipality) and at the sites of Rogić houses – Donja Jablanica and Prenj restaurant (Jablanica municipality).
