A plea hearing scheduled in the Novak Đukić Case

A plea hearing before a Preliminary Hearing Judge of the Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in the Novak Đukić case, has been scheduled for 14 January 2008, starting at 10:00a.m. in courtroom 4. Novak Đukić is charged with War crimes against civilians.

The Indictment alleges that, during a state of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 25 May 1995, in the capacity of Commander of the Tactic group Ozren of the Army of Republika Srpska, Đukić ordered his units, located in the Panjik village at the mountain of Ozren, to fire a artillery at a location in the centre of Tuzla known as „Kapija.“ As a result of the explosion of the missile, 71 persons were killed while approximately 140 sustained injuries. Tuzla was declared a safe zone by a Resolution of the United Nations Security Council issued on 6 May 1993.
