The Trial Panel of the Section II for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Court of BIH, following the discussion and acceptance of the Guilty Plea Agreement concluded between the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and Defendant Adnan Haračić and his defense attorneys, rendered and pronounced on 11 July 2012 the Verdict finding the Defendant Adnan Haračić guilty of the criminal offense of Terrorism. In that regard, the Court sentenced him to 14 year-imprisonment.

 

The operative part of the Verdict reads, among other things, that the Defendant Adnan Haračić, as a co-perpetrator, participated in the preparation and perpetration of the act of terrorism targeting the Police Station in Bugojno. The intention of the act of terrorism was to deprive persons of lives, as well as to seriously intimidate population and destabilize the fundamental political, constitutional and social structures of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The criminal offense was committed in an extremely cruel and ruthless manner, resulting in a death of a police officer of the Bugojno Police Station, major and minor injuries inflicted on a rather large number of officials, as well as a considerable material damage on the building and property of the Bugojno Police Department and buildings and property of Bugojno citizens.

 

In relation to the Defendant Adnan Haračić, the Court rendered the Verdict dismissing the charges under Count 3 of the amended Indictment as those charges were dropped by the Prosecution.  

 

In relation to the Defendant Adnan Haračić, the Court rendered the Decision extending custody until the Defendant is committed to serve the sentence but no longer until the expiration of prison sentence.  

 

Having sentenced the perpetrator of the said act of terrorism, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thus the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, show their decisiveness and  persistence to protect the constitutional and political order by the fight against terrorism as a  one of the criminal forms of political violence.
